Solving multiple mechanical problems on a high-use building entrance.
This commercial double-door assembly provides access from a parking area into the building. The doors were binding, would not close consistently, and at times were difficult to open. Inspection showed that the existing hinges were broken beyond practical repair. The areas where the hinges attached to the doors and frame were also in poor condition.
The failed hinges were replaced and the damaged mounting locations were rebuilt and reinforced to provide dependable attachment points. With the hinge work completed, the door leaves were brought back into alignment and adjusted so they could move and meet correctly.
Work also included attention to the lower sheet-metal protection. The existing lower metal sections were removed as needed, the affected area was refinished, and the worn protection was renewed with replacement metal sections.
The entrance also had a lock problem that required dedicated trade expertise. Rather than treating a specialized lock issue as a general repair, we coordinated a professional locksmith subcontractor to diagnose and complete that portion of the work. This allowed the hinge, alignment, finish, and lock concerns to be managed as one coordinated project.
